According to Regulation 0.00.01, all Guardsmen are required to adhere to a strict set of rules and regulations while in the service of the Guard. These regulations are designed to ensure the safety, security, and efficiency of the Guard, and the well-being and obedience of its members.

They cover a wide range of topics, including physical fitness, weapons handling, communication, and personal conduct. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in disciplinary action, including corporal punishment.

It is the duty of all Guardsmen to familiarize themselves with these regulations, and to abide by them at all times.

According to Regulation 1.04.01, all guardsmen are assigned a rank identifier, using simple letters. This system is designed to eliminate any potential distractions or ambiguities that could arise from the use of longer, more complex rank titles, and helps to reinforce a clear hierarchy within the organization. This makes it easier for guardsmen to understand and follow the chain of command, and allows for a more efficient and effective organization overall.

In the Guard, the rank structure is based on standard rank scale of now defunct NATO standard rank scale, with A being the lowest rank and R ususally being the highest.

Additionally, the use of letters as rank identifiers serves to de-emphasize individual identities and promote a sense of cohesion and unity among the guardsmen. This is in line with the Guard’s emphasis on the collective over the individual, and helps to foster a strong sense of camaraderie and loyalty among members.

Here is a list of the ranks in the Guard, starting with the lowest, given the rank scale equivalent and names in conventional army:
